Meteorologists are speaking out about public harassment, and they're not holding back:

Someone tweeted me today after posting this first photo to tell me I was fat.

Another person messaged me this zoomed in shot of my face to tell me my zits were disgusting.

Well jokes on y’all because while I might be chunky & covered with acne, at least I’m a nice person. □□‍♀️□ pic.twitter.com/PC5ND0QaX4

Do scientists belong on Twitter? Backlash from a Provocative Tweet

The problem with "science twitter" is that it encourages scientists to spend time on Twitter, when they should be doing science instead.

This is like recommending "Surgeon Instagram" - I'd much rather my surgeon focus on doing surgery in their capacity as a surgeon.

#WxTwitter can be exclusionary and clique-y

Controversial opinion: the #SciComm edition.

Scicomm and science on social media is very cliquey.

It can be quite exclusionary to those not in the cliques and those without a huge following □‍♀️

#WxTwitter can foster mentorship and community

We know we've done this one before, but it's been a while and we want to balance out last week's question on worst advice. #ShareYourStory: What is the best advice you have ever received? Career, life, relationship, anything at all!

Who Should You Follow on Twitter?

So thankful to our science twitter community for helping me to feel less alone. The things which I felt made me different or not enough, are the things in which I have found the greatest camaraderie, support, & encouragement. https://t.co/7OXDoTcIcM

Hey Meteorology Twitter, I dreamed about tornadoes last night and I largely blame you.
